Public gardens abound the Stevens Community, in between and surrounding the buildings, in once open lots and parks. Avid gardeners and those just wanting to get their hands dirty for the first time, are always welcome.
As an active community participant, Stevens Community Apartments wanted to entice more greenery in the area and volunteered a plot of land along Third Avenue to the Stevens Square Community Organization. The response has been a dramatic beautiful addition to the neighborhood.
In response to resident requests for ways to showcase their green thumbs, our landscape designers each year coordinate a multi-task garden and beautification project that takes place along 9 blocks and surrounding 23 of our residential buildings.
In addition to Stevens Community gardening opportunities, the SSCO also offers garden plots to residents who want to grow their own vegetables or flowers. Contact SSCO at 612/871-7307 or Click Here to visit their webpage.
